History of Blockchain – Interactive 3D Web Journey

Client: PeachWeb
Concept: Slava Kornilov

Role: 3D Designer

Formats: Interactive 3D Website

How do you make a complex, technical history feel engaging and accessible to a broader audience?

Blockchain is one of the most impactful and misunderstood technologies of the last few decades. Yet its story is often presented in static timelines, overwhelming infographics, or overly technical language. The challenge was to translate that complexity into a format that felt modern, digestible, and immersive, especially for people outside the crypto or tech community.

PeachWeb set out to demonstrate how emerging technologies like blockchain could be brought to life through interactive design, using no-code tools and in-browser 3D storytelling.

I worked as the lead 3D Designer, responsible for building the visual world that guided users through the blockchain timeline.

My contributions included 3D environment layout, visual styling, animation, and optimisation for real-time web delivery. I collaborated closely with concept creator Slava Kornilov to bring his vision to life through spatial design, material language, and interaction flow.

The project was designed as a scrollable, 3D web journey through the key moments in blockchain history, starting in the early 1990s and moving through to modern innovations like NFTs and digital ID.

Each milestone was visually represented within a continuous horizontal space, allowing users to scroll through floating nodes of content, accompanied by subtle 3D transitions, soft lighting, and animated details that suggested movement through time. The design avoided overly “techy” tropes and focused instead on simplicity, readability, and elegance, giving the content space to breathe.

The visual style relied on neutral colour palettes, clear typography, and a sense of atmospheric depth to draw users into the timeline without overwhelming them.

A real-time 3D journey that drove platform growth and inspired new storytelling use cases across Web3 and education.

The History of Blockchain became one of PeachWeb’s most widely shared showcase projects. It drew interest from Web3 creators, fintech teams, and educators looking to visualise content in a more compelling way.

It also contributed to the platform’s early growth and was later adapted into a no-code timeline template within PeachWeb, allowing users to create their own scrollable experiences with minimal effort. The project played a key role in demonstrating the platform’s capacity to handle long-form storytelling in real-time 3D.

All 3D elements were built and optimised for real-time interaction in the browser. The experience featured a floating camera system, scroll-triggered animations, and a modular layout that could adapt to different screen sizes.

Each scene was carefully tuned to maintain performance while supporting a visually rich narrative experience.

Why it matters.

This project shows how 3D design and storytelling can be combined to make abstract, technical ideas more human and approachable.

By focusing on clarity, spatial flow, and design restraint, we helped turn blockchain’s timeline into something that could be explored—not just read.
